Mamacorp est un studio fondé par Thelma, designer motif et autrice. Tout d ’abord formée au motif en France puis à l'impression textile à Montréal, c'est au terme de nombreux voyages et expérimentations qu’une pratique pluridisciplinaire s’est imposée comme une nécessité d’expression.
Toute la technicité du motif réside dans sa capacité à allier l'infini, l'équilibre et la répétition. La Mamacorp n'hésite pas à perturber cette harmonie par la couleur et la texture. Nourris de tendresse et de rondeur, ses designs s’adaptent aussi bien aux mirettes des enfants, qu'à leurs parents.
Sans se soumettre aux conventions, la Mamacorp explore avec passion les infinis possibilités qu’offrent l'espace et la matière. Le bois, le verre, la pierre, la céramique, la laque, le textile, les peaux deviennent des supports à ses dessins foisonnants, se nourrissant mutuellement dans un dialogue constant. Mamacorp is a studio founded by Thelma, a pattern designer and writer. Trained first in pattern design in France and then in textile printing in Montreal, it was only after much travelling and experimentation that a multidisciplinary practice emerged as a necessity for expression.
The technical nature of the motif lies in its ability to combine infinity, balance and repetition. Mamacorp doesn't hesitate to disturb this harmony with colour and texture. Nourished by tenderness and roundness, its designs are as suitable for the eyes of children as they are for those of their parents.
Unconstrained by convention, Mamacorp passionately explores the infinite possibilities offered by space and materials. Wood, glass, stone, ceramics, lacquer, textiles and skins become the mediums for her rich designs, which feed off each other in a constant dialogue. Mamacorp is part of this process of valuing gesture, celebrating the intelligence of the hand, the hand that draws, the hand that shapes and builds.
